What's worked for staying consistent with DSA after a 10 hour workday
#consistency#dsa
Been full time for a year and still trying to prep for a jump to a bigger company. Longest streak I've had is six weeks and here's the only stuff that's actually kept it going:
- 20 minutes, not an hour. An hour never happens on a bad day, 20 minutes almost always does.
- Same problem set as the day before if I didn't finish it, no new problem until the old one's closed.
- Phone timer, not an app streak. The streak counters made me anxious about breaking them, which made me want to quit entirely after one miss.
- Zero LeetCode on Fridays. Turns out having one guilt-free day a week is what keeps the other six going. Not saying this is optimal, just what's survived contact with an actual job.

AnonymousAnon Adding one that's helped me: pairing the 20 minutes with something I already do daily, right after brushing my teeth, so it's not a decision every day, it's just attached to something automatic.

AnonymousAnon Guilty of the streak-app anxiety thing too. Deleted the app three months ago and somehow prep more consistently now.

AnonymousAnon The 'no new problem until the old one's closed' rule is underrated, I used to bounce between problems when stuck which felt productive but taught me nothing.
