Terms of Service
Last updated: 17 August 2026
In short: Using CareerVerse means you agree to these Terms. They cover who can use the Service, your content, our AI features, interview recordings, how paid plans are billed, cancelled and refunded, and the usual legal points (warranties, liability, disputes).
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you ("you") and ASOasis Tech Private Limited, a company incorporated in India ("ASOasis", "we", "us", or "our"), governing your access to and use of the CareerVerse website and related features (the "Service"). Please read them together with our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
You confirm that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract under the laws that apply to you. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you are authorised to bind it.
2. Eligibility (18+)
In short: CareerVerse is for adults — you must be at least 18.
The Service is intended only for individuals aged 18 or older. By using it, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18. We do not knowingly permit anyone under 18 to create an account or use the Service, and we may suspend or close an account where we reasonably believe this requirement is not met.
3. Your account and sign-in
In short: You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, or by connecting an account you already have elsewhere. There are no passwords. Keep your inbox secure.
The Service uses passwordless sign-in. You can sign in with a six-digit one-time passcode (OTP) we email you, or by connecting a third-party account you already hold — in which case that provider confirms your identity to us and we then issue your CareerVerse session. We never receive or store a password for either method.
This means:
- You are responsible for the security of, and continued access to, the email inbox associated with your account. Anyone who can receive your sign-in code may be able to access your account.
- Where you connect a third-party account, anyone who can sign in to that account may also be able to access your CareerVerse account. You are responsible for keeping it secure.
- You agree to provide an email address that is accurate and that belongs to you.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You can see every sign-in method connected to your account, remove one, and sign out of all your other sessions, from your account settings.
- To keep you signed in, we set a secure,
HttpOnlysession cookie namedcv_sessionin your browser. You must not tamper with, forge, or share this session credential. - Please notify us at support@careerverse.tech if you believe your account or email has been compromised.
4. What CareerVerse offers
In short: A toolkit to grow your career — learning, AI resume and interview tools, practice exercises, a community, and a job tracker.
Subject to availability, the Service may include:
- Courses and learning content, including interactive lessons and coding challenges;
- AI resume tools — resume analysis and scoring, resume tailoring, and fit-against-a-job-description checks;
- AI mock interviews, which record your camera and microphone and run on-device face/attention proctoring (see Section 8);
- Build-a-project and system-design exercises, including code submissions and design canvases;
- A public Community forum whose posts, comments, and images are visible to anyone on the internet, plus non-public discussions attached to specific lessons (visible only to signed-in users);
- A job-application tracker; and
- An AI mentor chat and related AI-assisted features.
We may add, change, suspend, or remove features at any time, and may limit or gate availability of certain features.
5. Your content and the permission you give us
In short: Your content stays yours. You give us permission to use it only to run and improve the Service for you.
"Your content" means anything you submit to or create within the Service, including your profile information (name, headline, summary, phone number, location, photo, skills, languages, work experience, education, and LinkedIn/GitHub/portfolio links), uploaded resume files, job-application records, forum posts, comments and images, code submissions, system-design canvases, project write-ups, and mock-interview video and audio recordings.
You own your content. We do not claim ownership of it. You grant ASOasis a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable (to our service providers, such as cloud hosting and AI processing) licence to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, and display your content solely to operate, provide, secure, and improve the Service for you. This includes: (i) displaying content you post in community areas to other users; (ii) for the public Community, displaying that content to anyone on the internet, including via search engines; and (iii) sending relevant content to our AI provider to power AI features you invoke (see Section 7). This licence ends when your content is deleted from our systems, except for residual copies retained briefly in routine backups or where we must keep content to comply with law or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. Once you make content public in the Community, third parties who are not bound by these Terms may copy, cache, republish, or use it (including to train AI or other systems); we cannot control that, and deleting your content here cannot remove copies others have already taken.
By submitting content, you represent that you have the rights necessary to do so and that it does not infringe any third party's rights or violate any law. Where your content includes another person's personal data, you confirm you have a lawful basis and any necessary consent to provide it.
6. Acceptable use
In short: Be honest, be respectful, and don't misuse the Service.
You agree not to:
- break any law, or infringe anyone's intellectual-property, privacy, or other rights;
- upload or post content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, harassing, hateful, obscene, or that contains malware;
- impersonate any person, or submit another person's resume, identity, or personal data without authorisation;
- attempt to defeat, circumvent, or manipulate the interview proctoring signals, AI grading, security, rate limits, or AI-credit mechanisms;
- create multiple accounts, or share, resell, or transfer access to your account, in order to obtain more allowance than a single account is given;
- buy a paid plan in order to consume its allowance and then reclaim the payment, or repeatedly purchase and refund a plan (see Section 11);
- probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or breach or circumvent any security or authentication measure (including the session cookie);
- scrape, crawl, harvest, or bulk-extract content or other users' data, except as we expressly permit;
- reverse-engineer, copy, resell, or commercially exploit the Service or its content without our consent; or
- use the Service to develop a competing product, or to train or build any machine-learning model.
We may, but are not obliged to, monitor, moderate, or remove content that we reasonably believe violates these Terms or the law, and may take action including content removal and account suspension or termination.
7. AI features and disclaimers
In short: Our AI is a helpful assistant, not a guarantee. It can be wrong, and it can't promise you a job.
Several features rely on artificial intelligence. To deliver them, our backend transmits relevant inputs — such as your resume text, the job descriptions you provide, your interview answers, short-answer submissions, system-design solutions, and mentor-chat messages — to a third-party AI provider. Our Privacy Policy describes this in more detail.
- AI output may be inaccurate. Scores, suggestions, tailored text, fit assessments, grading, and mentor responses are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or outdated, and may vary between requests. Treat them as informational assistance only.
- Not professional advice. AI output is not professional, career, legal, financial, or other advice.
- No guarantee of outcomes. We make no guarantee of any outcome — including employment, interviews, offers, admissions, certifications, grades, or improved hiring prospects. Any score or assessment is an automated estimate only.
- Your responsibility. You are responsible for reviewing and exercising your own judgement over any AI output before relying on or acting on it, and for not submitting content you are not authorised to share with a third-party AI provider.
8. Interview recording and proctoring consent
In short: Mock interviews record your camera and mic. Face proctoring runs only on your device — the detailed face data never leaves your browser.
The AI mock-interview feature requires access to your device's camera and microphone. By starting an interview session, you consent to the following:
- Recording and storage. Your session video and audio are recorded and uploaded to our cloud storage so the feature can function and provide feedback. You can delete your recordings as described in the Privacy Policy.
- On-device proctoring. Face/attention detection runs entirely in your browser using an on-device vision library. The detailed facial-landmark data never leaves your browser and is never sent to us. We store only derived, summarised events and their timestamps — for example, that no face (or more than one face) was detected, that your gaze appeared to turn away, or that the browser tab lost focus, was switched, exited full screen, or that copy/paste was attempted.
- Browser speech transcription. Transcription of your answers may use your browser's built-in speech recognition. In some browsers, this sends your audio to your browser's vendor for transcription. That processing is controlled by your browser, not by us, and is governed by your browser vendor's terms and privacy policy. Where it is unavailable or you deny permission, transcription is simply disabled.
You are responsible for ensuring you may record in your environment and that you do not capture other people without their consent. If you do not grant camera and microphone permission, the interview cannot proceed.
9. AI credits and fair use
In short: AI features are metered as "AI credits", and we ask you to use them fairly.
Use of AI features is metered in units called "AI credits", calculated from the volume of text the AI provider processes. Usage limits — such as a daily allowance that resets each day — may apply and may change. Certain non-AI actions, such as code execution, may be subject to separate usage quotas. We may throttle, suspend, or decline requests when limits are reached or to protect the Service.
AI credits have no cash value, are not property, and are non-transferable. Premium raises these limits rather than removing them; Section 10 covers how paid plans are billed.
10. Paid plans, billing, and cancellation
In short: The core service is free. Premium is a paid subscription that renews automatically until you cancel, and you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
CareerVerse's core service is offered free of charge, and our Premium subscription is available as a paid plan.
Who sells it. Paid plans are sold and billed through our third-party payment processor, which acts as the merchant of record for the transaction: it is the seller of record, collects payment, handles applicable taxes, and processes any refund. ASOasis remains the provider of the Service and the party you should contact first about a product issue, a cancellation, or a refund. Your purchase is also subject to the terms the payment processor presents at checkout, which these Terms are intended to mirror.
What you pay. You will always see your exact total, in your currency and inclusive of applicable tax, before you pay. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, at the then-current price for your plan, and continues until it is cancelled. We may change prices; a change applies only from your next renewal, and we will give you notice before it takes effect.
Cancelling. You may cancel at any time. To cancel, email us at support@careerverse.tech from the address on your account, or use the subscription-management link on the receipt our payment processor emailed you. When you cancel:
- your access to paid features continues until the end of the current paid period; and
- future automatic renewals stop, so you won't be charged again.
If your subscription starts with a free trial, a payment method is collected when the trial begins, but you are not charged during the trial. If you cancel before the trial ends, you won't be billed at all; otherwise the trial converts to a paid subscription and billing begins when the trial ends.
Cancelling stops future billing; it is not the same as a refund, and on its own it does not refund the period you are already in. If you also want a refund for a recent charge, see Section 11.
If a payment fails. Where a renewal payment fails, we or the payment processor may retry it, and we may suspend or downgrade paid access until the payment succeeds.
When paid access ends. When a subscription ends — by cancellation, non-payment, or refund — your account reverts to the Free plan, and Free limits and features apply from that point. Content you have already created remains subject to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
11. Refunds
In short: Changed your mind? Ask within 14 days of your purchase and we'll refund it. That window is for a plan you haven't really used — where a plan has been substantially used, or these Terms have been broken, a refund may be reduced or refused. Your statutory rights (Section 12) always come first.
The 14-day window. If you change your mind about a purchase, you may request a refund within 14 days of the date of your transaction. An approved refund is returned to your original payment method, in the original currency; how long it takes to appear is determined by the payment processor and your bank or card network. After the 14-day window a purchase is non-refundable, except where Section 12 provides otherwise.
How to request one. Email support@careerverse.tech (or use our contact us page) and include:
- the email address on your CareerVerse account, so we can find you;
- the charge or receipt — a receipt number, the confirmation email, or the date and amount; and
- your reason, especially if it's a product problem we can fix.
We'll acknowledge your request, usually within two business days. Any refund or support link in your receipt reaches the payment processor as merchant of record, which issues the refund as seller of record.
How a request is assessed. Asking within the 14-day window does not by itself guarantee a refund. Each request is considered on its own facts, and we and the payment processor may take into account:
- how much of the plan you have used in the period you are asking us to refund — for example mock interviews taken, AI credits and mentor messages consumed, or documents generated, exported, or downloaded;
- whether the problem is a product fault we could fix, and whether you gave us the chance to fix it;
- how long ago the purchase was made;
- your previous refunds, cancellations, and payment disputes with us; and
- whether the purchase and the request, taken together, indicate an attempt to consume a plan's allowance and then reclaim the payment.
We may approve a refund in full, approve a partial refund reflecting what has already been supplied to you, or decline the request.
When we may reduce or refuse a refund. We may reduce or refuse a refund where:
- you have made substantial use of the paid features in the period you are asking us to refund;
- you have breached these Terms, including Section 6 — in particular circumventing or manipulating usage limits, AI credits, proctoring, or grading; sharing, reselling, or transferring access; scraping; or using multiple accounts to obtain extra allowance;
- there is refund abuse — for example repeatedly purchasing and refunding a plan, or requesting a refund on a plan bought after an earlier refund;
- there is evidence of fraud, of an unauthorised or stolen payment instrument, or of other manipulative behaviour; or
- the request falls outside the 14-day window.
This mirrors the refund terms of our payment processor, under which a request made inside the 14-day window is not guaranteed, usage or consumption is a factor it may weigh, and refunds are not issued where there is evidence of fraud, refund abuse, or other manipulative behaviour.
What a refund means for your account. Where a refund is issued, your paid access ends immediately and your account reverts to the Free plan — it does not continue to the end of the period refunded. Where a refund follows a breach of these Terms, we may also suspend or close your account under Section 18, and we may decline to sell you a further paid plan.
Before you raise a payment dispute. If you believe you were charged in error, please contact us at support@careerverse.tech first. Most issues — a billing mistake, an accidental renewal, a technical fault — are resolved quickly and directly, and if we can't resolve it together the matter can be escalated to the payment processor as merchant of record. Raising a dispute with your bank never removes any right the law gives you, but it is slower than asking us.
Nothing in this Section limits Section 12.
12. Your statutory consumer rights
In short: We always honour the mandatory consumer rights of your own country, and they override anything in Sections 10 and 11.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any mandatory consumer-protection right you have under the law of your country. Where such a right applies to you, it prevails over the rest of Sections 10 and 11.
Many places give consumers a statutory withdrawal or "cooling-off" period for online purchases — for example 14 days in the EU/EEA and the UK, and 7 days in countries such as South Korea, Brazil, China, and Canada. Because CareerVerse is a digital service that begins the moment you buy it, two things follow:
- You are asking us to start immediately. By buying a paid plan and using its features, you expressly request that we begin supplying the paid service straight away, before any cooling-off period has ended, and you acknowledge that doing so may cause you to lose a statutory right of withdrawal for that purchase. You give that request and acknowledgement by accepting these Terms and starting to use the paid features.
- We may account for what you have already used. Where a statutory withdrawal right does still apply after supply has begun, you remain liable for an amount proportionate to what has already been supplied to you, and we may deduct that amount from the sum returned to you.
If you believe a mandatory right of yours has not been honoured, email support@careerverse.tech and we will look into it.
13. Our intellectual property
In short: CareerVerse itself — our software, design, brand, and content — belongs to us.
The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, logos, course materials, and the "CareerVerse" and "ASOasis" names and branding (excluding your content and third-party materials), is owned by ASOasis or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own lawful career development, in line with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from the Service except as permitted by these Terms or applicable law. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
14. Third-party services
In short: We rely on a few trusted third parties; your use of them is also subject to their terms.
The Service relies on third-party providers, including a cloud infrastructure provider for hosting and storage, a third-party AI provider for AI processing, a payment processor as merchant of record for paid plans (Section 10), an on-device vision library (which runs in your browser, with its runtime loaded from a public CDN), and your web browser (for example, for speech recognition). When you initiate a LinkedIn import, our backend fetches the public LinkedIn profile you specify — this does not use LinkedIn OAuth or LinkedIn's API, and imported fields are suggestions only that are not saved unless you choose to save them.
These third parties have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for services we do not control.
15. Disclaimers — "as is"
In short: We work hard to keep CareerVerse running well, but we provide it "as is", without guarantees.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service and all content and outputs are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties or conditions of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, or availability. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that AI output will be accurate or reliable. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you; where any mandatory consumer right applies, our liability is limited to the maximum extent that law permits.
16. Limitation of liability
In short: There's a cap on what we're responsible for if something goes wrong.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ASOasis and its directors, officers, employees, agents, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or employment or business opportunity, arising out of or relating to the Service.
Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts, if any, you paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) INR 1,000.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
17. Indemnification
In short: If your actions cause us a legal problem, you agree to cover the resulting costs.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ASOasis and its officers, employees, agents, and service providers from any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising out of your content, your use or misuse of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or any third party's rights.
18. Suspension and termination
In short: You can leave any time. We can suspend or close an account that breaks the rules.
You may stop using the Service at any time and may request deletion of your account by contacting support@careerverse.tech or using any in-Service deletion feature where available. We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, if your use poses a security, legal, or operational risk, or where required by law. Where reasonable and lawful, we will give you notice.
Where we suspend or terminate your access because you breached these Terms, we are not obliged to refund any amount you have paid for the period affected, subject always to Section 12. Cancelling a paid plan yourself is covered by Section 10.
On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should survive (including Sections 5, 7, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, 20, and 21) will survive. Handling of your personal data after termination is described in the Privacy Policy.
19. Changes to these Terms
In short: We may update these Terms; we'll flag significant changes.
We may modify these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where the changes are material, provide additional notice through the Service or by email where appropriate. Changes take effect when posted (or on any later effective date we specify). Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
The version of Sections 10 to 12 in effect at the time of a purchase governs that purchase; changes to them otherwise take effect prospectively.
20. Governing law and disputes
In short: Indian law governs these Terms, and disputes are handled in India.
These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or the Service (including non-contractual disputes), are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Subject to any mandatory rights you have under the laws of your country of residence (Section 12), the courts of competent jurisdiction in India will have exclusive jurisdiction.
Before starting any formal proceeding, the parties will attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute by contacting support@careerverse.tech. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking urgent interim or injunctive relief from a competent court.
