Two competing offers, and the one with lower pay had a manager who actually answered my questions honestly, went with that one
#career-growth#offers#salary
Offer A was maybe twelve percent higher, offer B's hiring manager was the one who, when I asked about the team's on-call rotation, actually told me it was rough right now instead of giving me a canned answer. Small thing, but it stuck with me more than the number did. Took offer B. Too early to know if it was the right call financially, but I don't regret trusting the person who was straight with me over the bigger number.

AnonymousAnon The on-call honesty thing would sway me too. A manager who tells you the uncomfortable stuff upfront is basically the biggest signal you get before actually working somewhere.
