Reached out to someone on X instead of LinkedIn who posted about their team hiring, felt weird but got a real response

Saw someone tweet that their team was hiring and quote-tweeted asking a specific question about the role instead of DMing a generic "interested, is this still open." Felt oddly more exposed than a LinkedIn message somehow, maybe because it's public. They replied within the hour with an actual answer and a link to apply directly instead of through the black hole application portal. Small sample size, but it worked better than the ten LinkedIn cold messages I sent that same week.
