The "walk me through your resume" question used to wreck me until I stopped going chronologically

Was narrating every job in order like a timeline, including the parts that didn't matter for the role I was interviewing for. Switched to picking a theme relevant to the job — like "I've spent my career making slow things faster" — and threading three or four experiences through that instead of dates. Same facts, completely different reaction from interviewers.
