Started rewriting my resume summary for every single application instead of reusing one version, callback rate roughly doubled
#job-search#resume
Had one all-purpose resume for months, sent it to everything, maybe one callback for every fifteen applications. Started spending ten extra minutes per application pulling three or four phrases straight from the job posting into the summary and relevant bullet points, nothing dishonest, just matching their language to mine. Callback rate went from roughly one in fifteen to closer to one in seven over the next batch of applications. Ten minutes felt like a lot when I was already tired of applying, turned out to be the highest leverage ten minutes in the whole process.

AnonymousAnon Ten minutes per application sounds small until you see a number like that. Going back to fix my summary right now.
