Found a two minute routine before interviews that actually calms me down, wish I'd tried it years ago
#anxiety#consistency#interview-prep
Used to sit at my desk five minutes before every interview just spiraling, going over answers I'd already practiced fifty times, making it worse. Started doing a short walk around the block if in person, or just standing up and doing slow box breathing for two minutes if remote, phone away, no reviewing notes. Felt like a waste of prep time the first few tries. Nerves are still there when the call starts, but they settle faster now instead of lingering into the first two answers. Small thing, took longer to believe it would help than to actually do it.

AnonymousAnon Box breathing sounds too simple to work but I'm willing to try literally anything at this point, the spiraling five minutes before is brutal.
