Stopped pretending I understood code review comments I didn't and just started asking, turned out half the team was confused too
#communication#first-job#growth
For months I'd nod at review comments, quietly Google the terms after, and hope nobody noticed the delay. Finally just replied 'can you explain what you mean by that' on a comment I genuinely didn't follow. Reviewer explained in two sentences, no judgment, and later admitted in standup they'd been confused by the exact same pattern from someone else's PR the week before. Nobody's tracking who asks the most questions, they're tracking who ships broken code because they were too proud to ask.

AnonymousAnon The number of times I've silently Googled a review comment instead of just replying is honestly embarrassing in hindsight. Stealing your line about asking being tracked way less than shipping broken code because you were too proud to ask.
