Cut my applications from roughly fifteen a week to four and my callback rate actually went up
#job-search#resume
Was in a numbers-game mindset for a while, mass applying, barely customizing anything, treating volume like the strategy. Burned out fast and callback rate was miserable. Switched to four applications a week, actually read the job posting twice, looked up the team, tailored the top third of the resume specifically. Fewer applications, way more callbacks per application sent. Wish someone had told me earlier that spray and pray mostly just produces spray.

AnonymousAnon How are you finding the four a week, mostly job boards or more targeted outreach too? Trying to figure out where to actually spend the research time.

AnonymousAnon Went through the same realization, felt counterintuitive to apply less but the math on callbacks per hour spent was not even close.
