Turned down the higher offer with the better logo because the pair-programming interview felt like an actual conversation

Two offers landed within a day of each other. One from a name everyone recognizes, the interview loop there was four separate people asking nearly identical LeetCode-style questions back to back. The other company did a single pair-programming round where the engineer actually thought out loud with me, disagreed with one of my approaches respectfully, and we landed on something better together. Took the second one for less money. Three months in, that interview turned out to be a pretty accurate preview of how the team actually works.
