Switched from bedside nursing to QA engineering and the thing that transferred hardest was reading a room during an incident call
#career-switch#growth
Twelve years of nursing, now six months into QA. Everyone warned me the technical ramp would be brutal, and it was, but the thing that actually made me useful early was staying calm and asking the right clarifying question during a production incident call while people were panicking. Nobody puts 'used to codes in a hospital' on a technical resume, but it's doing more work than my test automation scripts some weeks.
