Used my state's pay transparency posting to sanity check an offer before even getting to the negotiation call

Offer letter came in without much context, so before responding I pulled up the actual job posting on a state job board where the range is legally required to be listed. Number I got was solidly mid-range for the posted band, which gave me something concrete to reference on the call instead of guessing. Recruiter didn't push back once I mentioned the range.
