Came into my first 1:1 with a brand new manager with three actual questions written down and it set a completely different tone

Could've just shown up and let them run the meeting, but wrote down three specific questions beforehand: what does success look like in 90 days, how do they like to receive updates, what's something the team struggles with that isn't obvious yet. Manager mentioned afterward it was the most prepared first 1:1 they'd had in a while. Small thing but it set expectations early instead of drifting into them.
