Pair programming with seniors makes me feel slow, even when the work turns out fine

I think I'm okay when I'm alone. Put someone senior next to me and I start second guessing every line and over-explaining before I type anything. Last week my lead said 'you don't have to narrate everything' and it stung more than it should have.

Anyone found a way to relax in those sessions?
