How I finally stopped freezing on 'walk me through your project'
Anonymous
For about a year I froze every time someone asked me to walk through a project. I'd have the whole thing in my head and then blank on the first sentence.
What changed it was boring: I wrote a three-line version of each project. What it was, the one hard decision, what I'd do differently. I say those three lines out loud before every call. Sounds silly, but the first sentence stopped being the problem.
If you freeze on this too, try writing your own three lines. Mine are rough, but they've carried me through four interviews this year.
