Applied to 60 jobs, got 3 replies, and all three traced back to people I'd already talked to

Cold applications basically didn't work for me. Every reply I got came from a coffee chat, a former classmate, or a Slack group. Is that normal for entry-level right now, or did I just get unlucky?
