Turned 30 and still don't know what I want to do. Is it too late to switch?

Six years in retail management and I'm tired of it, but every time I look at bootcamps I feel too old to be starting over. A friend says that's just fear talking. Has anyone switched past 30 and felt like they waited too long, or too little?

'Fear talking' is half right. Ask what exactly scares you: the time, the pay drop, or being the oldest person in the bootcamp. Those are three different problems, and only one of them is really about age.

Switched at 31 from ops into backend. The first six months were hard, not because of age but because I had to be the junior person in the room again. Worth it, but I'd sort out the money side before the study side.
