Are cloud certs worth it for a junior dev with no degree?

The exam is around $150 plus a course. My gut says a cert won't get me past a screen, but a couple of postings list it as a plus. Did any certificate change how a recruiter read your application, or was it just a line on the page?

It didn't get me past screens. What it did was give me a clear 30-second answer when an interviewer asked what I'd done with the cloud. I'd pick the fundamentals exam over the advanced one, since the advanced one only helps if your job already touches that stack.
