Two years remote and I still haven't met my team in person. Is that hurting my promotion case?

My manager says the work speaks for itself, and I believe him. But two peers who got promoted last cycle were at the same in-person offsite. Coincidence? How do you keep visibility on a fully remote team without becoming the person who posts a Friday update nobody reads?
