My manager said 'own this service' on day forty. I nodded and then panicked

I didn't know what owning meant in practice. Was I supposed to be on call? Decide the roadmap? Just fix whatever broke?

I ended up asking three specific questions in a 1:1 and got a much clearer picture. Asking the vague question out loud helped more than I thought it would.
