Do recruiters actually open GitHub links? My best project got zero visits

I put real effort into a README with a demo gif and a small architecture diagram. Checked the traffic a month later: nothing I can trace to a recruiter. The only views were a friend and what looks like a crawler.

Should I stop linking repos on the resume and just put the live demo, or does nobody care and it's all about the interview?
