Nine years of teaching math made my first technical screen harder, not easier

Teachers are used to explaining something until the room gets it. In a screen that made me over-explain the easy parts and rush the hard ones. The fix was boring: say the approach in two sentences before writing any code, then check in once. I'm still working on timing, but it's the first round where I didn't feel like I was giving a lecture.
