Recruiter went quiet after the onsite. How long before you follow up once?

Anonymous2 days ago

It's been nine business days past the date they gave me. I don't want to be the person who pesters, but I also don't want to assume it's over. What's the follow-up that's worked for you without sounding desperate?

Check their last message before you send anything. If they gave a timeline and it's passed, follow up. If they never gave one, I'd wait another week before deciding it's over.

Nine business days past their date is enough to send one short follow-up. I sent two lines at the one-week mark once and got a reply that afternoon. Skip the 'just checking in' wording and mention one specific thing you're still excited about.
