Used an AI assistant on a take-home. Do you say so in the submission?

Nothing big. I used an assistant to check a regex and to suggest one edge case I'd missed. The brief didn't say either way about tools. Part of me thinks a line in the README looks honest, and part of me worries it reads as 'couldn't do this alone.' What do you put in the submission? I'd like to get the norm right before the next one.
