Got a code review that made me defensive. It turned out to be the most useful thing that week.

The reviewer left 'why this?' on eight lines in a row. I'd spent a day on that module and took it personally, and I wrote a reply I'm glad I didn't send. Went back an hour later and most of the questions were fair. The one that stung was right. Anyone else have a review that felt like an attack and turned out to be the most useful feedback of the week? What do you do with the feeling before you reply?
