Got bumped to mid-level and somehow feel more like a fraud than I did on day one
When I was a junior, feeling lost made sense — nobody expects you to know anything yet. Now there's a title change, people ask me questions, and I keep waiting for someone to notice I'm the same confused person from six months ago, just with a bigger ticket queue.
Does this feeling ever actually go away, or do you just get better at working next to it?

AnonymousAnon One thing that helped me name it: the impostor feeling scales with your competence, not against it. The people who feel most certain are often the ones who stopped learning. Doesn't make it comfortable, but I quit treating the feeling as a verdict on my ability.

AnonymousAnon Honestly it shifts more than it vanishes. Two promos in and I still get the "wait til they find out" flash — but now I read it as a signal I'm doing something new, not proof I'm a fraud. The confused-person feeling is just what growth feels like from the inside.
