Delete your CareerVerse account

In the app (iPhone or Android)

1. Tap your picture at the top right, then Profile and account.
2. Tap Privacy and data, and scroll to Delete account.
3. Tap Delete account. If your plan renews, the button reads Continue to delete, and we first show you what deleting does to it.
4. Enter the 6-digit code we email you, then tap Delete my account.

On the website

1. Sign in at careerverse.tech, open the account menu (your picture at the top right) and choose Profile and account, then the Privacy tab.
2. Under Your data, choose Delete my account.
3. Enter the code we email you, type your email address to confirm, and choose Delete my account.

If you can't sign in

Email support@careerverse.tech from the address you use for CareerVerse, with the subject "Delete my account". We will check that the address is yours, usually by sending a code to it, and then delete the account.

If you signed in with Apple and chose Hide My Email, tell us so. Our code reaches you through Apple's relay.

Before you delete

• Download a copy of your data first if you want one. The same screens offer it.
• App Store subscriptions keep billing until you cancel them in your Apple account. Deleting your account does not cancel them.
• A plan bought on our website or in Google Play stops renewing when you delete your account. If we cannot turn the renewal off, nothing is deleted.

What we delete, and what we keep

We delete or anonymise your account and its data within a reasonable period. That includes your profile, Career Twin, practice and interview records, AI Mentor conversations, wins, jobs and Community posts and comments. A few things are kept, as our Privacy Policy explains:

• Store purchase records. A purchase made in the App Store or Google Play is kept as a financial record. It is no longer linked to you.
• Notes of bounced or rejected emails. Kept against a coded form of your address, not your account, so we do not email that address against its wishes.
• Spoken versions of interview questions and practice lines. We keep these sound files so that the same sentence can be played again without being made again. They hold no link to your account, but a file says what its sentence says: an interview question can include your first name or refer to your profile or an earlier answer, and a practice line can repeat or answer what you said. They have no expiry and are not deleted with your account.
• Records kept on their own schedule. The count of your AI Mentor messages clears itself within about six weeks. Audit records of page descriptions are deleted about 90 days after they were made. App crash reports are kept by Sentry for up to 90 days, and app analytics by Google, tied to the app's installation, for at most 14 months. Our ordinary server logs are not removed with your account. Copies in routine backups go after a short time.
• Anything the law requires us to keep.

Copies of public Community posts that others or search engines already made are outside our control.

Delete only some data

You can also delete your Community activity, or what builds your Career Twin, without deleting your account: in the app under Privacy and data, and on the website on the Privacy tab. Each AI Mentor conversation can be deleted on its own too.
