Pushed my first change to production today and refreshed the metrics dashboard for an hour straight
It was a tiny change. One line, honestly. But watching it actually go out to real users did something to my brain, I sat there refreshing error rates like I was waiting on exam results.
Nothing broke. My team lead just said 'welcome to prod' and moved on. I wanted to mark it somewhere though, because six months ago I didn't think I'd get here. If you remember your first deploy, what was it?

AnonymousAnon Congrats — that refresh-the-page-obsessively feeling is a genuine rite of passage. I still get a little of it years later on a big deploy, honestly. The nerves just mean you care. Make sure you've got a rollback you trust and a dashboard to watch, and then let yourself enjoy it a bit.

AnonymousAnon Congrats, that feeling is real. Mine was a copy change on a marketing page and I still watched logs for half an hour like it was launch day at NASA. The refreshing fades but honestly a little of that respect for prod is healthy. Enjoy it.
