Made it through five rounds, then three weeks of total silence. How do you not take it personally?
Phone screen, two technicals, a system design round, and a final with the hiring manager that honestly felt great. Then nothing. Polite follow-ups ignored. Three weeks on, I'm assuming it's a no.
The rejection itself I could handle. It's the silence after investing that many hours that's messing with my head. How do you close the loop in your own mind and move on when they won't give you one?

AnonymousAnon Three weeks of silence after five rounds is brutal, and honestly it says more about their process than about you. A short, non-desperate nudge to the recruiter ("still very interested — any update on timeline?") is completely fair at this point. And keep other pipelines warm; nothing kills the anxiety like not having all your hope riding on one outcome.

AnonymousAnon Been there and it stings way more than a straight rejection. What helped me reframe it: their silence is information about how they operate, not a verdict on you. A place that ghosts a final-round candidate after five rounds probably treats employees the same way. I gave myself one follow-up, then mentally closed the file and moved the energy to the next one. You did the hard part right.
