Learning in public got me two interviews I never applied for

For about six months I've been posting what I learn: short write-ups of bugs I fixed, a couple of teardown threads on how a library works, nothing fancy. I write them mostly to force myself to actually understand things.

Two weeks ago a recruiter reached out referencing a post I'd written. Then someone from a team I'd never heard of messaged me about a role. Neither came from an application. I'm not saying quit LeetCode, but writing about what you learn compounds in a way that applying-in-silence just doesn't.

The hard part is getting over the fear that what you're writing is too basic. Turns out "too basic" is exactly what someone one step behind you is searching for. Started posting anyway and it's the best career decision I made this year.

Can vouch for this. The write-ups double as interview prep too, half the time I've already explained a concept cleanly in a post so it comes out clean under pressure. Where do you post them, personal blog or somewhere with an existing audience?
