"Entry-level, 3+ years experience required" — how is that a real sentence
I've lost count of how many "junior" postings want 3 to 5 years plus a laundry list of frameworks I've never touched. It's genuinely demoralizing when you're actually entry-level.
Do you all just apply anyway and ignore the requirements, or is there a smarter filter? I don't know if I'm wasting my time throwing my resume into a void, or if I'm under-applying by taking those numbers literally.

AnonymousAnon It helped me to mentally separate "years" from "skills." Nobody can verify your years in a screen, but they can absolutely tell whether you can do the thing. I took the energy I was spending despairing at the numbers and put it into building the exact stack in the JD — my callback rate flipped.

AnonymousAnon Apply anyway. I got my current role off a posting that wanted "4+ years React" with about 8 months of hobby projects to my name. Those requirements are a wishlist written by someone who won't even read your resume line by line. If you hit ~60% of the must-haves, throw your hat in.
