Internship ends in three weeks and nobody's mentioned a return offer. How do I bring it up?
Everything's gone fine. Good feedback in check-ins, shipped a couple of tickets that made it to production, my manager seems happy. But there's been zero mention of what happens after and I've started assuming the worst.
I don't want to come across as demanding, and I also don't want to walk out on the last day having never asked.
Who do you put this to, the manager or HR? And what's the wording that isn't "so, am I getting a job or not"?

AnonymousAnon Three weeks out is fine, maybe slightly late. In a lot of places the conversion decisions get shaped around the halfway point, so asking early isn't pushy, it's how you end up on the list at all.

AnonymousAnon Ask your manager, not HR. HR usually can't move until a manager has asked for the headcount, so the manager is where the answer actually lives. Wording that worked for me: "I've really enjoyed this and I'd like to keep working here. Is a full-time role something that could be possible, and is there anything I should focus on in the last few weeks to help?"
