The hardest part of interviewing while employed isn't the interviews, it's the calendar
Currently employed, looking on the side. The logistics are what's getting me. Recruiter screens I can slot into lunch, but final rounds are 3-4 hours in the middle of a workday, and I can only burn so many "dentist appointments" before someone spots the pattern.
Do people just take PTO for the big rounds? Block their calendar as focus time and vanish for a morning? I don't want to be dishonest with my current team, but I also can't announce I'm leaving before I've got something signed.
How did you juggle this without it becoming obvious?

AnonymousAnon One thing nobody tells you: plenty of companies will run final rounds slightly outside work hours if you just ask, because they know you're employed. I've had loops start at 8am and one split across two evenings. The recruiter deals with this constantly — let them solve it for you.

AnonymousAnon I took PTO in half-days and scheduled final rounds early morning so I could roll into work after. Nobody questions a 9-11 block. Burning a vacation day for a 4-hour loop felt wasteful but was way less risky than a suspicious pattern of "appointments."
