Cold-messaged twelve alumni and former coworkers on LinkedIn this month, mostly just asking about their team and being upfront that I was job hunting. Two replied, one turned into an actual referral. Is a ~17% response rate normal for this, or did I just get lucky? Curious what ratio other people are seeing.

AnonymousAnon 17% honestly sounds solid to me, I've sent way more and gotten fewer real replies. One turning into an actual referral is the part that matters anyway.
