Six months fully remote and I've had maybe four real conversations with coworkers
#remote-work
Six months into a fully remote first job and I've had maybe four conversations with coworkers that weren't strictly about a ticket. Work itself is fine — code review, standups, all functioning. But I didn't expect the quiet loneliness of it, especially as someone who was hoping to make actual friends at their first job. Does this get better, or is this just what remote is?

AnonymousAnon It can get better but usually only if you're intentional about it — pushing for a non-work virtual coffee, or if there's ever an in-person offsite, actually going. It doesn't happen passively over video calls alone in my experience.
