Broke checkout in production for nineteen minutes on a Friday evening — my first real incident, three months into the job. Deployed a config change I was sure was safe. Watched the error dashboard spike in real time and felt my stomach drop. Team was calm about it, did a blameless postmortem, and honestly the debrief taught me more than the previous three months combined. Still replay that nineteen minutes more than I'd like to admit.
