Company's paying for an AWS cert. Worth the six weeks, or just a resume line nobody checks?
Company's offering to pay for an AWS cert and give me six weeks of study time during work hours. Free money and free time, so the calculus seems obvious, but I keep hearing mixed things about whether certs actually move the needle versus just being a resume line nobody double-checks. Anyone had it actually matter in an interview or a promotion case?

AnonymousAnon Honestly do it just for the study time being paid. Even if the cert itself is a wash resume-wise, understanding the services hands-on has saved me more than once when debugging infra stuff.

AnonymousAnon It mattered for me getting shortlisted once, but only because the JD explicitly asked for it — didn't move the needle at all in the actual interview rounds after that. Take the free six weeks regardless, worst case you learn something useful.
