Made it to the final round twice this year, rejected both times with zero feedback, and I don't know what to fix
Two different companies, two final rounds, two rejections, and both times the recruiter gave me some version of 'we went with someone whose experience aligned more closely.' No specifics either time. I can't tell if it's something concrete in how I'm answering questions or just genuinely close competition that went the other way. Starting to second-guess everything about my interview style with nothing actually pointing at what to change.

AnonymousAnon Asking recruiters to narrow it down is smart, but I noticed they'll answer honestly only if you frame it as "help me improve" instead of "why not me." Also worth tracking: if you're always losing at final round and never earlier, that's actually useful data, your resume and screening are working fine, it's the panel dynamic itself that needs work.

AnonymousAnon The vague 'aligned more closely' line is brutal because there's genuinely nothing actionable in it. After my second one of those I started asking the recruiter directly if it was leveling, culture fit, or technical depth, at least narrows it down a little even if they won't give specifics.
