Moved from writing code to mostly reviewing other people's code and unblocking their PRs, and I miss building things
#career-growth#leadership
Got asked to lead a small team four months ago. Days now are mostly reviews, unblocking people, and meetings about priorities, and I maybe write actual code twice a week if I'm lucky. The team's doing well, which is apparently the point, but I miss the feeling of shipping something myself instead of just clearing the path for someone else to ship it. Is that a normal adjustment period or a sign I picked the wrong track?

AnonymousAnon Four months is early, give it more time before deciding it was the wrong move. The itch to build usually doesn't fully go away, but for me it did get quieter once I found a side project to scratch it on weekends.
