Got promoted to senior four months ago and still Google things a junior on my team already knows
Title changed, the gap in my head didn't. Had a junior explain a git rebase edge case to me last week that I genuinely didn't know, and my first reaction was embarrassment before I caught myself. Nobody expects a senior title to mean you know literally everything, that's not actually what the title is for. Still working on believing that instead of just repeating it to myself after the fact.

AnonymousAnon Following too, though I'll say the day it clicked for me was when a director told me impostor syndrome doesn't fully go away, it just gets quieter. Honestly not the comforting reframe everyone promised, but at least it's accurate.

AnonymousAnon Following because I just got promoted too and I keep waiting for someone to notice the title doesn't match the confidence yet.

AnonymousAnon This is basically every senior I've ever worked with honestly. The ones who never Google anything are the ones I'd actually worry about.
