Seven rounds across nine weeks and they've just asked for an eighth conversation
Recruiter screen, take-home, take-home review, system design, two behavioural rounds, a "casual chat" with a director. Now they'd like thirty minutes with someone from an adjacent team.
I genuinely can't work out what's left to evaluate. I've now spent more hours interviewing here than I spent being onboarded at my last two jobs combined.
Half of me says walk. The other half says I'm nine weeks in and it's a good role. Has anyone actually walked away this late and been glad they did?

AnonymousAnon Before you walk, it's completely fair to ask the recruiter what this eighth conversation is for and when a decision actually lands. Not aggressive, just a straight question. How they answer will tell you a lot, and at this stage it costs you nothing.

AnonymousAnon Walked at round six once and have never regretted it. The process turned out to be an accurate preview of how they made every other decision — slowly, and with too many people in the room. I turned down a role and dodged a culture.
