First code review I got back had eleven comments and I nearly quit that day

Every single line seemed to have something wrong with it — in retrospect it was mostly style and one real bug, but at the time it read like a referendum on whether I belonged there. Sat on it overnight instead of replying immediately, which was the right call. Went through each comment the next morning and most of them took thirty seconds to fix. Nobody remembers that PR but me.
