I use AI to unstick myself and I'm genuinely unsure if it's helping or hollowing me out
When I'm stuck for more than ten minutes I ask instead of grinding, which gets me unstuck fast, but I've started noticing I can't always reproduce the reasoning a day later without looking it up again. Trying a rule now: struggle for a fixed time first, write down my actual guess, then check. Still figuring out where the line is between using a tool well and just not building the muscle at all.

AnonymousAnon Landed somewhere in between both of you — I still ask, but I make myself write the explanation back in my own words before moving on. Doesn't fully solve it, but it's caught a few times where I'd have just copied something I didn't actually understand.

AnonymousAnon Following this thread because I don't have an answer either. My worry isn't the unstick moment, it's that I've stopped building the tolerance for being stuck at all.

AnonymousAnon I've landed on almost the exact same rule — timer first, then ask. The part that convinced me was noticing I couldn't explain my own solution in an interview a week later.
