Practiced system design out loud alone in my apartment and felt ridiculous the entire time

No whiteboard, just talking to an empty room about load balancers like a crazy person. Neighbor probably thinks I'm on a very intense phone call every night. It's the only prep method that's actually surfaced the gaps though — reading about a message queue and being able to explain why you'd reach for one live under a bit of pressure are two completely different skills.

AnonymousAnon Neighbor thing made me laugh way too hard. Also unironically the best prep method I've found, saying it out loud forces you to notice when you're hand-waving.

AnonymousAnon Do this too, minus the talking part, I just write it as if I'm explaining to someone. Somehow still surfaces the same gaps in reasoning.
