Six months in and I still Slack a teammate before touching the deploy pipeline, is that normal

I technically have access and technically know the steps. I still ping someone every time like I'm asking permission. Not sure if that's healthy caution given what's at stake or if I'm supposed to have grown out of it by now. Curious how long this lasted for other people before it stopped feeling like defusing a bomb.

AnonymousAnon This was me for almost a year. What actually changed it was watching someone senior do the exact same check-in before their own deploys — turns out it never fully goes away, it's just normal practice with extra steps.

AnonymousAnon Eight months in and I still do this for anything touching prod. At some point I decided it's not about permission, it's just a second pair of eyes, which is a good habit regardless of tenure.
