Panic during a live coding round, asked to restart the problem, and they said yes
Fumbled the setup so badly in the first ninety seconds that I couldn't recover a clean train of thought. Actually asked out loud if I could start over with a different approach and the interviewer just said sure. Still remember how surprised I was that this was allowed. Passed that round. Wish I'd known earlier that asking for a reset isn't the same as failing.

AnonymousAnon Had a similar moment where I just said "give me ten seconds" out loud and actually took them instead of panic-typing. Interviewers seem to care a lot more about whether you can recover than whether you stumble in the first place.

AnonymousAnon The setup fumble is so real. Losing the first ninety seconds shouldn't tank the whole thing but it always feels like it will in the moment.
