Eight years as an ICU nurse, three months into QA engineering, and the skill that transferred was not the one I expected

Figured the useful carryover would be attention to detail, checklists, that kind of thing. Turns out what actually transfers is staying calm when something's on fire and nobody knows why yet, a production bug at 2pm hits different when your baseline is an actual code blue. Still feel behind on the technical vocabulary, sat through a whole meeting last week nodding about "flaky tests" before looking it up after. Team's been patient about it in a way I wasn't expecting, one senior dev straight up said he'd rather explain a term twice than have someone fake understanding and miss a real issue.
