Had to force-push to fix a mistake three weeks into my first job and read the command four times before hitting enter

Committed something I shouldn't have to a shared branch, nothing catastrophic, just embarrassing, and the fix everyone online said was a force push. Every result had some variation of "know what you're doing before you run this" which did nothing for my confidence at 9am on a Tuesday. Slacked my lead instead of just doing it quietly, half expecting to get told off for asking something basic. He walked me through exactly what it'd overwrite before I ran it, took maybe four minutes total. Fixed in under five, and the thing I actually remember from that morning isn't the mistake, it's that asking first didn't cost me anything.
