Did a mock interview with a friend who used to do hiring and the real interview felt easy by comparison
She'd done technical screens for years at her last job and treated the mock like an actual one, interrupted me when I rambled, pushed back on a wrong assumption instead of letting it slide, sat in silence during a pause instead of jumping in to help. Wanted to quit twenty minutes in, it was uncomfortable in a way I hadn't expected from a favor between friends. The real interview a week later had none of that pressure, interviewer was warm, gave hints unprompted, and I kept waiting for the harder version that never came. Not sure I'd have been ready for either without doing the uncomfortable one first.

AnonymousAnon Might try this. A little worried it'd just make me more anxious going in if the friend ends up way harsher than reality usually is though.
