Six months into job searching and I can't tell anymore if my applications are getting worse or I'm just burned out reading them back
Anyone else lose the ability to tell if a cover letter is good three drafts in? I used to be able to catch when something sounded off. Now everything sounds the same to me, good or bad. Taking two days off from applying just to reset my eyes on it. Curious if a break like that actually helped anyone else or if it's just procrastination with a nicer name.

AnonymousAnon Following this thread because I'm in the same boat. One thing that helped me catch the 'everything sounds the same' problem was reading my cover letter out loud instead of just rereading silently, out loud you notice the flat parts immediately.

AnonymousAnon The two day break thing is real, I did something similar after week 4 and came back and immediately caught two typos I'd sent to actual companies. Worth the days off just for that.
